Career Summary
Chris is the General Manager of Incubation Programs at Innovation Works (IW), as well as a Principal at Innovation Works Development Fund (IWDF). Chris has 12 years of “hands on” entrepreneurial and angel investments experience, primarily in IT, as well as in the education and entertainment industries. From early 2008 through late 2009 he was a Managing Partner at Eastern Bell Venture Capital, a 300 million RMB local China fund, based out of Beijing and Shanghai. Before that Chris served as the CEO of ICDL Asia Pacific Ltd., an organization in the computer skills certification sector with operations in over 25 Asian countries, which he helped turnaround and relocate to Singapore. Prior to coming to Asia, Chris co-founded and managed ECDL Hellas S.A. in Athens, Greece, which by its third fiscal year had reached $10 million in revenues and $2 million in net profit.
Chris has considerable expertise in start-up environments and operations, as well as in franchising and licensing networks. He is an active angel investor with a portfolio of angel investments in mainland China as well as in Singapore, a Director of the Business Angel Network South-East Asia (BANSEA) as well as a Founding Member of the China Business Angels Network (CBAN). Chris holds a Masters in Engineering in Mechanical Engineering from Imperial College in London and a Masters in Business Administration from INSEAD
